Community Policy
Since its inception, Windmill has proudly developed and maintained a committed community policy. The company's Community-based ethic ensures that 15% of all seats across all performance seasons are offered free-of-charge to socio-economically disadvantaged communities and schools throughout South Australia.
"Just wish to say thank you very much for the tickets for Wilfrid Gordon McDonald Partridge. As I never get the chance to go anywhere much as I can't afford it. It was an excellent night I loved it very much and so did my family. Once again thank you."

Where possible, Windmill also helps to provide free transportation to shows for these groups. This is courtesy of Adelaide Metro, made possible through Windmill's partnership with the Office of Public Transport. As a result, more than 20,000 school children and families have been able to experience the cultural, social and artistic riches that Windmill is renowned for.
Windmill's community access program also targets specific disadvantaged groups, especially in relation to the production and/or age group. A recent example of this is our return season of Wilfrid Gordon McDonald Partridge. This show tells a moving story of a young boy helping his elderly friend recover her memory as she develops Alzheimer's Disease. As a result of our partnerships with local Adelaide organisations, we were able to offer complimentary tickets to this show to members of The Department of Veteran Affairs, members of The Alzheimer's Association and residents of an Elderly Person's Care Home.
I was privileged to attend Windmill's wonderful production of Wilfrid Gordon McDonald Partridge last week. The show was a great lesson for children and my generation to show how the gap can be breached by love and understanding. This will remain with me and I hope that some of my great-grandchildren will be able to see it. Thank you for bringing to life that wonderful story by Mem Fox.
