Artistic Associate

Windmill Performing Arts honors Amber McMahon.

In 2007, Windmill selected Amber McMahon to be its first Artistic Associate. This honorary role acknowledges an artist who has had a significant involvement with Windmill and has played an important role in the work of the company and its recognition by the wider community. The Artistic Associate will be an advocate for Windmill Performing Arts and promote the value of the arts for young audiences and their families. An Artistic Associate will enjoy a life-long friendship and bond with the company which acknowledges the importance of their shared experiences.

Between 2003 - 2006, Amber McMahon performed in 6 Windmill productions: The Snow Queen (2003/4), Moonfleet (2004), Afternoon of the Elves (2004), Boo! (2005), The Green Sheep (2005) and The Sad Ballad of Penny Dreadful! (2006).

She was twice nominated for Helpmann Awards (Best Supporting Actress) for her role as the little robber girl (The Snow Queen) and Sara-Kate Connolly (Afternoon of the Elves).

Amber is currently a member of the prestigious Sydney Theatre Company Actors Company. She has been highly acclaimed for her roles in Mother Courage and The Lost Echo.

Since graduating from Flinders University, Amber has performed for a number of companies including the Melbourne Comedy Festival, 2004 Adelaide Fringe Festival, QTC, STCSA and The Border Project. She has been the recipient of a number of awards including the Adelaide Critics' Circle Emerging Artist Award.

Windmill Performing Arts celebrates its association with this talented artist.
