THE STORY SO FAR...

Windmill was formed in 2002 as an initiative of the South Australian Government to provide high-quality performance experiences to inspire and enrich the cultural life, learning and imagination of children and families.

As a national company, we regularly present works locally, nationally and internationally to a loyal and rapidly increasing audience.

Since its inception, the company has:

  • presented 33 productions made up of 17 new commissioned works, 8 new productions of existing works, the presentation of 8 leading Australian and international companies and has undertaken 33 regional, national and international tours, performing to a total of 333,236 children and their families to date.
  • Toured nationally to Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Canberra, Sydney, regional South Australia and Queensland
  • Toured internationally to New York, Canada, Hong Kong, Korea, New Zealand, Singapore, Tokyo and regional Japan
